Yes. Definitely put a footer of some sort under each corner of the granite. I've forgotten the name of the anti-vibration rubber I got from Ivan those many years ago, but it works extremely well. Likely similar to Herbie's.

The thing that is nice about the Herbie's Tenderfeet is they are in the shape of a truncated pyramid, so any platform placed on them is very, very stable.

Not sure about that - I may have blown the budget ordering the music box mechanism, LOL!

Great suggestions here - I wasn't familiar with Herbie's. Looks like a reasonable solution as I explore options here, thanks.

Yep, no worries. The IKEA Aptitlig/Herbie's Tenderfoot experiment would cost $80.

Am using the three of Herbie's medium Soft Fat Dots under each of my speakers and they have been excellent. In ~3yr of use they've shown no visible deterioration or compression.

My granite shelves weigh about 50#, each, so would need the harder material with the Tenderfoot.

Yep, I've been impressed with the Herbie's products. They are very affordable, and they actually do what they claim to do. I'm using the Herbie's threaded stud gliders as the footers for the Resonant Woods stands for my Harbeths. These have the Herbie's dBNeutralizer material in them. With these dBdBNeutralizer stud gliders resting on the particle board platform* that my Harbeths/stands rest on on top of the carpet, while playing music on them, you cannot detect any vibration on the platform whatsover using the Hamm Seismometer iOS app.

*–I tested a number of materials under my Resonant Woods stands for the Harbeths including 3 different types of ceramic tile, travertine stone, MDF, and plain 'ole particle board, and plain 'ole particle board sounded the best.

My Canton Ref 9K stands sit on their stock feet and each sits atop a 22"x 24" piece of granite on top of carpet. Each stand is filled with ~25# of sand/lead-shot mix. The granite/stand/speaker combination weighs ~100#. I'll have to look into a better method of support than the stock feet. I tried spikes but was never happy with them. I'm thinking Herbie's threaded stud glider may be a nice step up. Thanks for the 'heads up' on them.
Have you thought of starting a "Herbie's" review thread? We've sort of morphed this one into that.

Ha! Yeah, we have kind of done that, huh?

If I may continue the digression for a moment more, Just an additional note, I've had a pair of Herbie's threaded stud gliders on the pedestals for my big Dynaudios for about 8 years now. They make a notable improvement over the little spikey things that Dyn included with the speakers.

Another product I've been seriously thinking about trying are the IsoAcoustics Gaia IIIs under the stands for the Harbeths. Be interesting to do comparison of them and the Herbies gliders.

Okay..enough digression.

Not quite.

Perhaps you could do a comparison of the Herbie's, GAIA III and the Stillpoints. Definitely worth a write-up for the TAS. You could then send to me and I would do the same under my speaker stands and provide my non-professional feedback. You do realize that I usually do not volunteer. But for this I would make an exception.

Now......... back to your regularly scheduled programming (and my apologies to the OP).

Glenn & Stephen, all good, and these aren't digressions IMO, since any plinth wouldn't be without feet of some sort, and thoughts and opinions are especially welcome given I'm looking for different perspectives.

One thing I think I expressed at the beginning is that isolation feet (a la Stillpoints) for the TT itself may be in order, but my untrained opinion is that expensive feet for the plinth (and Herbie's is within reasonable IMO) would not be worth it as I'm looking to have something kind of cool looking at low cost, and to do something with this remnant vs. a tweak or improvement to the sound. Of course, going backwards sound-wise would be a deal killer.

Got the music box mechanism today, and while I didn't really have any time, I did try it on a neoprene desktop blotter and it was appreciably louder vs. unattached. More to experiment with and to learn...
