Thanks to Jim (ehoove) for the suggestion.
Listening to . . . A MFSL SACD Patricia Barber - Companion This album starts with "The Beat Goes On" on which Patricia Barber plays a mean Hammond B-3 organ - This is my favorite of her albums - good performance, excellent sound quality. I really like the B-3 which shows up throughout the album.

That looks like a very interesting LP, Julian! I'm not in a sophisticated, black tie mood, so I'm playing a plain, old redbook CD of a guy in a trenchcoat:
David Sanborn - Songs From The Night Before This is the only Sanborn recording I have on CD...my other four or five are LPs. I've really grown to like him...little harder hitting than some sax players. The opening track of this album has some very nice percussive beats which are sounding particularly nice on the system, this evening. I'd also like to say thank you, Bart, for starting this thread...

I also think Ray Brown's Soular Energy is a must have as well:
There are tons that are great but I tried to keep it to the ones that seem to get a lot of playtime on the CD spinner. Will compile a separate list for vinyl later |
