Inflation, Insurance & Audio Gear
It’s time to revisit what your upgrades, and new replacement cost is for all your Audio Gear.
Once a year, I review and update my home owners policy to accordingly cover replacement cost of all my gear.

We just had storms come through last week with many instances of flooding. This is why the room that is more advantageous for listening is not be used for my main system. "WE" did not experience flooding but many around us did. My homeowner's policy has replacement cost but flood coverage is capped. As it was I physically unplugged everything during the storm which was the worst lighting I've ever experienced.

Having spent about 28 years of my working career in insurance it is a good idea to read your policy coverage or discus it with your insurance agent or company directly. Homeowner coverage can vary by state and company. Not all policies have replacement coverage unless you pay for it and some policies have limitations on specific items like jewelry, firearms, precious metals, etc. As far as electronic equipment, I am not aware of a limitation. If you schedule items keep in mind that you will likely only recover the schedule amount at the time of loss and not replacement value. Scheduling items usually has no deductible involved at the time of loss. As I said, you should discuss this with your agent or company directly.
