Default queuing arm issues

And I noticed the queuing arm lever sometimes doesn’t lower the tone arm all the way down to the record and sometimes moves it a little to the side.

Anyone else have similar problems?
The spindle fits all my records. The oil in the queuing arm often dries and needs to be removed and replaced.

Thank you for the reply. How did you go about removing the queing arm? And what kind of oil did you use? Different from the oil supplied for the bearing? Thanks again.

No! Its not the oil supplied. Its a damping silicone oil with a viscosity somewhere between 300-500,000. I beleive 500k but not positive. The lift arm is held in place by a small hex screw located on the spindle side of the cyclinder. Loosen hex on side and lift up and out and replace oil. However before you do this make sure the height of the lift is correct (maybe thats your issue) Once screw is loosened you can easily adjust height.

Default MT10 Stacking on MA8900

I apologize if this is not the proper place to post my question, but i was not able to start a new thread. I am considering purchasing an MT10 used from a local reseller, but have a question regarding stacking it on my MA8900. I have seen pics of the MT10 stacked on top of an amp, but am not sure if this will cause issues for the integrated amp. It seems like they are designed to stack on one another aesthetically. Does anyone have an experience or opinions on the matter?

Thanks in advance

As a general rule, stacking components is not a good idea, but that's especially true with turntables.

My MT5 has a Blue point No. 2 cartridge and thinking about upgrading……. Have done little research but obviously looking at Sumiko. It’s a MM currently but could I do the “Song Bird” for my system what do you think? I will keep looking into this but I have leard to ask for input from this group early as there are always “unknown unknowns” to me . I would need the high output option

The Songbird should be an excellent choice as an upgrade. Not sure why you would need the HO option. Doesn't your C52 have an MC input? Pretty sure it would be fine with the LO model.

Selecting a phono cartridge is like opening the menu at that fancy restaurant that offers 200 items. It's all great, but you can only eat 1.

I agree with Glenn, the C52 sports a very good MC stage that has sufficient gain to negate the need for a HO cart. This is JMHO, but I would give a big plug for looking into the Soundsmith Zephyr Star if your budget allows it. It's a bit pricier than the Song Bird, but it has outstanding channel separation and they just have a really musical sound. Great detail and resolution.

Good luck on the search.

Thanks I’ll dig into this more the only reason I was thinking of the high out put is that’s the output of the current MC cartridge……. I need to look at my manual Also thanks for the vote on the songbird
