CT5 and LP70s discussion
Do we have a few owners out there with thoughts on this combo. I use the KT120 tubes on the amp.
Its kind of a keeper for me. I'm always toying with the idea of a different DAC as i think this combo is slightly dark and i have a similar DAC, so maybe too much of a good thing. The ET5 has alot of gain and lets face it, its not as much of a looker or a cosmetic match for the LP70s. GAT would be nice, but i would need a second hand one or a lotto win. I also notice that this a combo that thrives on the long listening session. If you are less than excited at 8.00pm just hang in there until 11.30 when the system is just more satisfying after 3 albums or so. You could never say listening fatigue is a issue with this combo. KT120s are a no brainer. Running a fresh set of tubes sounds fabulous. I did a full replacement late last year. I run my CJs with Valhalla cables and Vivid B1 speakers. My Current system is pretty forward sounding, but once again I think that is more about the Naim DAC and room than the amps. |

This has been my reference system for about four years now; I absolutely love it. Took a LONG time for the CT-5 to burn in, but once it did, bliss. I'm done; done, done, done.
