New 9MM
I decided to add my first 9MM pistol to the armory here.
My new Springfield Armory Echelon optics ready 9MM arrived this week, closely followed by a green dot optic and a small supply of ammo, After unboxing, cleaning and lubing the weapon I installed the supplied 3 round extension buttplate to the supplied 17 round magazine. The second magazine supplied is a 20 round unit. I immediately headed for the range and zero'd the iron sights and getting a feeling for the weapon. Even right out of the box it performed well. My only issue was the size of the grip. The next day the optic arrived so I installed that and replaced the large sized backstrap for the small one provided with the Echelon. This fits my hand much better! Then it was time to go back to the range but it was full up so I'll have to wait a bit to check & set zero for the optic. Springfield's new Variable Interface System allows for mounting up to 30 different optic makes & models with no custom or additional plates needed. This allows for a perfect zero of the optic and allowing a precise co-witness with the iron sights. The trigger is phenomenal! There is a small takeup with no notchiness, followed by a firm wall and positive trigger break. I tested my trigger and averaged 3.8 lbs over three tests. The trigger reset is short and positive with a small click telling you it's ready for the next round. I am looking forward to setting zero on the optic and having some fun with this weapon.

Congrats on the new pistol. It looks like a fine addition.
I just added a new Beretta APX A1 Compact to the armory. For a compact it shoots pretty soft and is incredibly comfortable in the hand. It's shown itself to be quite accurate out of the box with the irons. No optics for me. Trigger is really good, but not what I would call outstanding. A fine pistol for the price. Up next, a micro 9 since my home state finally got around to passing Constitutional Carry. (Takes effect on July 4th)
