Default I just bought one of the worst recordings ever...
Well, business took me to LA (the big city) today.

I made a special trip to Amobea Records... one of the greatest on earth.

I mostly only buy vinyl but there on the rack I saw Steve Winwood's and Eric Clapton's Live at MSG, first time in 40 years...

I thought, I've got to have this, even on CD.

IT HAS TO BE THE MOST POORLY RECORD PIECE OF SHIT I HAVE EVER LISTENED TO!!!!

The meters look like they are broken.



And, it is such a shame because the material is outstanding.

WHY, DO THEY DO THIS TO US????

Stephen.......If you left money in their hands, you already know the answer to your question. Buying music these days without a trusted recommendation, or a personal audition is a crap shoot at best.

You might have a bad CD and not necessarily a bad recording. I have had only 1 bad CD like yours and the sound was similar to 2 tin cans with a wire. I exchanged it and everything was fine.

Greg,

I am starting to think that you may be right... I finally got around to listening to the 2nd CD of the set and it is not near as bad as the first.

I will take it back... too bad the record store is 100 miles away.

It's not the retailer's fault, it's the producers. Perhaps Ivan should start his own label and sell the product online, uncompressed AIFF/WAV downloads. If iTunes were like that, I'd buy music there. Until then I will continue to buy CDs on Amazon.
