Jerome...that is very exciting. We are all looking forward to hear your impressions. Just a quick question - he did not seem to be worried about the amps' ability to drive your PMCs? Just curious...I guess you will find out soon enough

Hello Cyril,
No he did not say anything about the efficiency of 89 dB of my speakers.
I told him that I was looking for an other kind of involving sound than the one I get with the 2301's, a different sound signature, giving me the illusion of having many systems with only one ( which I already have with the ARC 100.2 indeed ). I told him that I listen to music mainly at night, at low volumes.
He mainly asked me my musical tastes to voice the amps accordingly and did not seem to worry about the speakers. But I suspect him to come to my home, rather than me coming to his home, because he's curious about the 2301's. 300W of push pull versus 20 W of direct single ended triode !
Interesting no ?
My very good friend, who is himself a tube / speakers DIY addict, an intimate of JC VERDIER, told me that he knows nothing more musical than " triodes à chauffage direct" in french =SET.
The 2301's are already very musical so I 'm very curious how these amps will sound.
I'm fully staisfied with the Mcs. I think that I 'm going to start a new hobby : buying tube amplifiers ( I don't buy fancy cars and nice watches - my mother bought me a Rolex in 1990 and I just bought an SS Blancpain - so what the hell ? ) and making a great collection of them. Something like a museum ! A bit crazy but what do you want, we have to find occupations to make us forget where we go, where we come from and who we are.
That's hobby as an "escape". And what a beautiful one....!
If I buy the Verdier amps, I will also buy the Shindo amps in a few months !
Welcome to the tube museum !

Hello friends,

Today I had the immense privilege of receiving one of the few great Masters of High End high fidelity, Mr. JC VERDIER, who came to bring me his 845 Triode Spirit.
I took pictures, I'm proud like a kid, and most of all the 845 monoblocks are just fantastic. I'm listening to them right now. F a b u l o u s
More to come when I will recover from my emotions !
Cheers,
