Default Passing the baton...?

I had an interesting experience last nite.

My wife and I were at a Communion party. When it broke up in the early evening, we invited my wife's neice and her boyfriend over for a couple of beers. These kids are probably about 25. The niece commented that her BF had been talking about getting an "album player" and that's all the urging I needed to make it a vinyl nite and we went old school all the way.

I played Maggot Brain by Funkadelic, Allman Bros. Eat A Peach, Zappa's Hot Rats, a little Sly and the Family Stone, SRV's Texas Flood and closed with Steely Dan's Aja.

Now I don't know that the BF dug every second of every song played but I do know that his butt was planted on the couch the whole time and he seemed to enjoy what he heard and asked a lot of questions about both the music and the equipment.

In retrospect, it was kind of neat knowing that just maybe I cracked open a door on a format and perhaps some music that the BF will persue. It was fun for me and I'm hoping the BF too.

OneMalt.......It is always a joy to plant the audio seed, particularly in the younger generation. Many young people have never been exposed to audio beyond the car stereo, and ear buds plugged into an MP3 player.
