Blue Note/Music Matters
Anyone else subscribing to the limited edition LPs from Blue Note/Music Matters?
If not and you are a Jazz fan, check them out, all remastered by Kevin Gray and Steve Hoffman from master tapes. If you subscribe, you also get unique and individual numbered copies. You usually get 2 new releases a month. This month is Freddie Redd and Tina Brooks. |

I don't subscribe but I bought a couple of the albums individually. I've got Coltrane's Blue Train and Dexter Gordon's Go. Exquisitely remastered and a sound that has to be heard to be believed. Well worth the scratch!

Serge, do you have the LD+3 album? I haven't found a jpg to sample of it, but am a fan of Gene Harris. The only thing about these is just the up & down of the 45 RPM format - you're really got to be in the undivided-attention listening mode (something I should do more of actually). I heard Horace Silver's Cape Verdean Blues today, and was extremely impressed. I subscribe to the 25-SACD set that Acoustic Sounds has out, but think it's a different outfit doing the remastering. Blue Note has an incredible catalog.

Maybe "scratch" was an unfortunate choice of words when discussing vinyl...
