I recently redid the setup for the Strads and have found a position which allows them to play low and tight down to 40-50Hz. That allowed me to move the Xover to 45Hz and has tightened things even more.
The second sub helped create one wave front left to right - so better ‘balance’. Future work — With the rear port of the Strads plugged, I THINK, I might be able to run them full range and use the Xovers on each sub to feather them in ~ 40-50Hz. That would obviate the need for the JL Audio CR-1 crossover which might add some sonic benefits from the simplicity that results. I am always thinking about what might be next. I still haven’t completed the upgrade of my SilenZio. While the NETCard XE brings benefits, the HDPlex 300 LPSU and DC-ATX power system hasn’t worked out. Currently waiting for a replacement 300w LPSU to try that again. Goal is to power both the NetCard AND my motherboard/SSD from the linear power supply. That will brings benefits. My purchase of a i7 CPU has been impacted by the global chip shortage. The Intel chip ordered was cancelled by the vendor and now shows as unavailable. That will keep me on Windows 7. I wanted the i7 to load Win 10.

Thank you Bart. I don’t think I am much different than most here - always looking for things I can do to ‘improve’.

Craig’s Latest System Pictures
Only 4 or so months ago, I had that room dialed in pretty well. Late May, the boss lady goes to a cocktail hour at a home in our neighborhood. The hosts open a bottle of champagne and someone asks “what are we celebrating?”. “We are selling and moving to Riverton Point”. My wife promptly pulls one of the hosts aside and asks “How much?”.
FOUR days later we have not only signed a contract to buy their home but have our home under contract! That was the easiest part of this story. Roll the clock forward, we have sold, moved to storage, lived off of family and friends for a couple of weeks, bought and moved, unpacked, unpacked, unpacked and unpacked some more. I hate the moving process when I have to do all the work. My former company refused to help me with this move . Anyway, The new home brought a different two channel room. Much bigger but with worrisome dimensions of 22’ X 22’ X 10’ with some odd angles here and there. Luckily it’s not a perfect box. This week I had three 20 AMP dedicated lines runs and Furutech GTX-D(G) outlets/plates and covers installed. I also spent considerable time placing my Strads and a little time working in the subs. Haven’t run any measurements. This room is big. It allows the creation of a huge soundstage which I at first loved, but realized it wasn’t proportioned correctly. Now I am working to find the right balance between proportion/sound stage and bass. I love this part of the journey. More pics to follow but here are some teasers. It all still a little disorganized. Good luck Craig!
If you haven't unpacked it in a year, then ... Looks like an amazing room in the making. How far is SC from Boston again?
