Looseleaf, I also have a K-03. It is a great sounding CDP to me but I still prefer listening to music on my TT. I do agree that you must be very careful playing records since it is so easy to do expensive damage.

Thanks guys for the comments, I never really followed progressions of digital audio over the decades though I do clearly remember at one point that vinyl was going to disappear and with it everything connected to it, well what happened to the revolution. Anyway I believe vinyl will continue to be the standard for a very long time yet.
One thing about the Esoteric line, the Japanese cover all the bases when it comes to engineered built quality inside and out. They did this long ago too for their own market and parts of Europe . We in North America only saw the flood of mass market receivers and speakers which anyone could afford knowing little about their high end lines and I see they are popular now like Micr Seiki ect.

Thanks Tom for the kind words, I guess my rough and tumble life style of the past had caught up to me, I just hope I don't start to loose my memories.
I'm not ready to depart with my analog I just bought a Kodo Beat table a couple of years ago well a used one and it's pretty good. I think this technology of today is something to be amazed at, well some of it anyway. However accessing a library of music with an IPad really takes the cake. Soon I will listen and see this very thing in action. I don't rightly know at the moment what the combinations of the components are but I was told it's pretty good. Tone is important to me among other things ,it has to be realistic and if it does it well I'll be content. My collection of CDs is laughable the amount that I have so I think I'm in a good spot for going in either direction with digital, that is not having a huge collection of CDs to sell off for a penny a pound . Well I shouldn't be that hard nose about them. Though on the other side of the digital coin I sure like what I have read about and the looks of the Esoteric players.

Only you can say.
The price difference is significant. If you can afford the difference, it would be worth traveling or even a plane flight (if you need one) to find out. |

I own them both; the difference is quite noticeable IMO.

is it a $7k difference though?
i play mainly cd's intertwined with a tad of usb. i am sorta on a budget, but want it to be a keeper, so don't want to have any regrets or what-if's later on. |
