Default Ref CD9SE and 6SE discontinued?

Browsing Audiogon and noticed ads from Paragon in Ann Arbor for 9SE and 6SE stating models discontinued. Has been rather quiet from ARC since departure from McIntosh. Any information on new equipment?

I don’t see an ad for the 6se, just the 6, which we all know is discontinued.

There is no way they would discontinue the 6se at this time. The update line is months long. Why would they kill that?

My audio dealer said ARC’s CD transport supplier was discontinuing production of the transports they used. So ARC has discontinued the CD9se.

That would make sense. Wonder what ARC will do going forward.

Good question. With streaming now taking the edge over playing CDs... because of increasing availability of higher Rez files... if I were them I would redesign and upgrade the DAC only component. Which I would thing they would already be working on. I’m going to be trying a Berkeley Alpha DAC 3 shortly. If it wins... all my CDs go. I think it is going to be a hard choice, REF CD9se as a DAC sounds really nice with the rest of the REF components.

It is the CD6SE that has been discontinued along with the CD9SE. The Ref 6SE line stage is still very much in production.
