So far so good... I like it.

My only minor gripe would be the exaggerated reduction in size of the waveform bar in order to accommodate portrait mode...I would like to see it a little wider.

Definitely setting a new standard.

I concur.

As a new Roon user I think I’ll wait a month or so before updating. Core has been up for 21 days now, it’s ROCK solid. (Sorry, couldn’t help the pun.)

I did the same and the upgrade went smooth as silk. Now have Roon 1.8 on my Core CPU, as well as functioning as in Remote mode on the MacBook Pro, and also on both the iPhone 12 Mini and iPad. 👍

Love the new interface, and....playlists are now also veiwable in Portrait orientation, which is great when using the iPad.

Some of the new features e.g. depicting recommendations and usage characteristics are pretty cool, also.

The new Discover feature is pretty killer, too...

So far the update is a giant waste for me. The first response was there is no adjustment for the number of albums displayed. Now I have also found that I can no longer see the "abc" option at the bottom of the page to elect jumping to any letter in the alphabet to search for the artist I want to play. So far this sucks.

Typing a letter in the Search field for an artist works just fine.

The letters pop up when using the scroll bar on the right...but on the iPad it is a bit fiddly...

Actually it is not fine. First it appears they are not using my metadata to identify the artist. I have over 45 albums (soundtracks and scores) that I have changed the artist to "score" from day 1 within Roon. I found that much easier to select a score than trying to remember who the artist was who created the soundtrack. All my scores were together. When I type in SC it now only shows one or two albums and it takes forever to populate.

CORRECTION: IT MAY WORK. I WAS TOLD TO TO GO ARTIST VIEW WHERE IT DOESN'T WORK. IF I GO BACK TO ALBUM VIEW WHICH I ALWAYS USE IT DOES WORK.
