Joe, sure. you're welcome. I'm not professional reviewer, so don't trust me much.
Or may be can be trusted more than commercial reviewer .. Funny I have to describe about Burmester here rather than in Burmester Forum. I believe I've hurt someone business by discussing trouble regarding B111. Product have just been debut in USA. Anatta, have you visit this BAV show too ? All I found out after trying all of these expensive toys is that
nothing is perfect for every situation. That make us keep buying and changing when our preference changed. I keep many kinds of AC cords just to fine tune. For me, if perfect recording , Burmester 077+911 is great. If don't need much impact, ARC Ref40+Ref250 are outstanding. Pass XP20+XA160.5 are generally great too. ARC Ref40+ Moon W7M = good combination for my taste, just not matched visually. Toga |

Joe, the Dyns C1 are smoother and mellower than the TADs; aren't they a better match to the 911?
If Toga doesn't succeed in finding the right amp for the Q3s maybe he should focus on getting some smoother/warmer speakers like Dyn C4 II. Those Esotar tweeters are sweet... |

Of all Class A amp I tried, Vitus Audio, Pass Labs. They share same characteristic.
Both have low power output. But in real word, feel limitless too. magical mid band. warmth.. but both are not airy in top treble and not fast and snappy in leading edge. When I play concert from BLuray, I need more snappy sound. so I keep Moon till today, let's see how the 100watt mono Accuphase sound with Magico Q3. Right now at this moment 911 MKIII is pushing Q3 hard. I don't think I need more power. unless someone say that 909Mk5 sound better even at low volume then I will consider 909, If same sound but louder, then I don't need it. 911Mk3 is superb, in a solid state way, sound so fast, punchy and very sharp. Hmm... do I need external supply for 077 ?? that will cost a lot more. Anatta, Q3 itself is superb. It sound almost like marshmallow when feed by Burmester 111, I don't have a plan to replace them anytime soon. I have heard at great length full Moon EVO driving Dyn C4. I liked power and bass, but I felt my Salon2 had far more clarity and cleaner sound. Toga Last edited by TOGA; 08-25-2012 at 01:20 PM. |

Anatta, I plan on hooking up the 911's to the C1's tomorrow and get a feel for them. Yes, the C1 are more mellow and smoother then the C1's, but that does not detract from the music at all. In fact some music benefits this presentation. I think the C1's will tighten up and come to life with the 911's. The CJ Pr350 is like a comfortable pair of shoes on the C1. Slip them on and say Ahhhhh. Last edited by joeinid; 08-25-2012 at 01:49 PM. |

TOGA,
The factory mono 911mk3's will be much better than a stereo 909mk5. I think you might like the additional power and control. Factory 911 monos are better than using the external cables to convert the 911's to mono as well. |
