MCxxx 3-channel operation & bridging
I'd like to upgrade my two surround amps with a nice used MC7106 or MC126 amplifier.
However, I've never bridged one of these for 3-channel operation. I've read the MC126 manual and am confused so I am looking to you good folks for some advice. How do I do this? Thanks In Advance!

Michael, I have a 7106 and have bridged it before but it was 10 years ago. Not sure what you are confused about but as a novice then, I was able to figure it out so I am sure you can. I remember it as a matter of choosing two side by side output channels, moving a slider and then making sure you connect to the correct terminals - like both positives or something like that. Craig

Michael.......Here is the MC126 Owner's Manual. Check out pages 10 and 11 for how to operate the six channel amplifier as a three channel amplifier.

So I should be able to bridge a MC126 into 3 channels? Is it just a matter of connecting pre-amp outputs to the MC126, and connecting three speakers using the positive terminals only vs. -/+ 6 times?

Michael.......You will also have to change the switch positions for the three bridged channels. Just follow the directions in the manual and you will be fine.

Dan...the bridging portion of the operation is what puzzled me a bit. Pages 10 & 11 does not describe the proper settings for bridging to supply the 275W @ 8 ohms power to three speakers. It does, however, show the correct speaker wire orientation.
Reading on, page 13 shows the proper settings for input level controls, the mode switch setting and the proper speaker cable connections in detail. So now I have to decide if the MC126 is for me or not. I believe it is!
