I've got a good friend who swears by his MC501s. I've never heard anything like the MC2301, so I need to put that one on my "must demo" list.

The MC2301 is still on the McIntosh Labs website. Mine are going to stay with me until the afterlife. They are not going anywhere.

501’s - My all time, absolute favorite, loved the 3D glass, and just enough power.
1.2kw’s - currently have. Just incredible. 301’s - I really enjoyed these. Great sounding amps

Great to hear from you again, JWJW. Last year, the Mrs and I were invited to audition a pair of B&W 802D3s, but, quite frankly, I ended up paying a helluva lot more attention to the MC1.2KW mono blocks that were driving them.
