Dave, one of the ships you refer to was parked next to ours in Cozumel last Thursday. It is huge and I've heard it is amazing. We may take it next depending on the ports it goes to at the time we plan our trip. I was told the only complaint heard on the ship is the amount of time it takes to walk the length of the ship. We were quite impressed with what we saw and were wishing we could board and look around.

Our ship is on the right. Yours is the monster on the left.

My wife and I went on a Princess Western Caribbean cruise this past January and enjoyed the ship and cruise very much. Food excellent, ship's amenities very good. Ports of call - Ho Hum (Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman, Cozumel).

We have cruised the Caribbean many times (about 15) and prefer those cruises leaving from San Juan and going south from there, but the Princess ship and service made up for some of the lack of wonder in the ports.

Our ship was the Ruby Princess - A very nice ship indeed.

We're sailing on the Caribbean Princess in Jan. out of Fort Lauderdale. It's only a 5 day cruise and we stop only in Grand Caymen. The wife's nephew is getting married on the ship on the second day out and we have about 55 family and friends attending.

Jack,
You have to tender in Grand Cayman & I dislike tendering. With only one stop you might want to get an excursion lined up ASAP because they'll likely fill up early since people won't have island choices with their excursions. The port shopping is nothing special. If this were my cruise I'd have a dive already booked.

Last time we were there (2011) we just grabbed a taxi out to 7 Mile Beach and relaxed. I would like to go someplace for some good snorkeling. We usually try to stay back and wait for the crowd to disperse when we have to be tendered into a port.

Jack, That sounds good, really good. Talking about it I'm starting to really miss the beautiful caribbean beaches and that great clear, warm water.......

I am thinking early Oct. another 7 day trip for me, thinking I take the east loop this time, hurricane season draws down for the most part and the temps still nice and warm, although Sept. last year was fine.

That's why I can't wait for Cancun in December. The ocean is so nice and blue and about 83 degrees and I could go on and on. The pool is in the low 80's also and salt water which I really enjoy and the swim up bar and I will become friends, again.
