New source cd player_Dac

Hallo,

I have tested this gears:
Playback MPS 3 (I dont use sacd/multichannel = no MPS5)
Meitner MA2
Esoteric K03
Moon 650Dac / 750Dac

Playback for me is the best.
the Meitner Ma2 sound fine but the "slot lika a notebook" is not the best....and no dsd, no 384,....(ok today 192 is more as enough but "liquid music" change very fast....
Esoteric K03 is the better in construction but the Playback sound better (imho)
Moon is a killer (Meitner/Playback have much from him inside...)

I think a "all in one" is more comfortable....
(less cables, electrical theoretically better than a dac + transporter, ...)


A Combo like Mpd3 or Ma1 with a Esoteric K05 is not at the level from the Mps3...

The playback unit has gotten good reviews. I have owned a K03 which is a great unit and now have a K01. Wouldn't the K01 be a better comparison?

Hallo Jim,

well the K01 is a very amazing player. much much better from the K03.
of course the price is arond 2x the K03 price (in Switzerland)....

from Esoteric make sense invest from the K03 to the Top K01. the K05, K007 are very differents.....



I will stay and play cd ....in the next years go with a only pc / hard disc library and the K01 is not (well I think) in this tranche of market.
