Forgive me for being out of date here in relating to video,but can one still buy a new Kuro or are they gone to TV heaven?

There is a new Pioneer PDP-6020FD 60-Inch Class KURO on Amazon, very hard to find though.

Last night I placed my hand on the top of my PRO-111FD, where the vents are. Not hot at all.

I thought they are not making the KURO anymore.. I might be wrong.. ( I settled for another brand)

Pioneer exited the TV business officially in April 2010. The 10G sets (tenth generation) were introduced in 2009. I think the last manufactured sets were either late 2009 or very early 2010.

I recall it was only a few months after I'd gotten my Kuro...and it seemed that Pioneer was poised to do extremely well, at least in the high-end monitor biz...then they abandoned it. I never did really understand why.

Probably as simple as margins and market size and the sense the world was moving in droves to LCD.
