Differences between Devore O96 and Silverbacks ?

My listening room is small but recently renovated to make it bigger. Not too sure about the dimension but it's kind of a L-shaped. Distance to listening position is quite near field. I have been wondering if my shindo Montrachet can be modded from 16 ohm to 8 ohm output if it's even possible? Will it put less strain on the amp? I am sure the SB even after the upgrades will not have its impedance increased.

Actually just read the warranty slip of paper for my Montrachet, it says 8ohms output, so actually power rating is like 15 watts. So I can stop confusing myself.

Im using Montrachet with SBR and there is plenty of power for me.

There is a new distributor for Germany with a couple of dealers attached.

I was wondering if my current pre/amp gear would be a good fit for the SB?

I own New Audio Frontiers preamp absolute mkii with the 845 reference monos which have 50watts.
