Inspiring also to have a chat with AC and other Mc experts. Finally pulled the trigger for new amps, and indeed this is the right 3d where to post it…
Congratulations! When do you expect them to arrive?

Hi!

If all goes well the bi-colour babies should be delivered to me next week...

I think they are part of the first batch delivered here in Europe.

I'll soon stop toying with amps and tubes, this is THE END.

Congrat Matteo. We'd all like to see the photo's when they arrive.

I am a bit shy...

First, I need to rethink the furniture that will be tailor made "around" them, a 1502, my initial idea, would have been easier to place.

I was thinking to the C22 MkV as pre - I really like its retro look - but the alu panel does seem of a different shade. I would like to see the 3500 first to be sure 100%... but if that is confirmed, I guess Mc will soon propose something matching the champagne finishing of the newcomers... any thoughts?

I just texted my dealer to ask if he's heard anything. I don't want my amps until my amp stands arrive. Both need installation at the same time. Congratulations to Matteo and Botill on their new 3500MKII's. I was listening to "Dreams of New Orleans" by Wycliffe Gordan last night around 1 am. You can download it off Hdtracks. Some of these 192/24 downloads have an amazing dynamic range. I swear it sounded like I remember my dad's Concert Grands/Tanberg 64X/C-22/MC225 sounded. It just had that amazing analog quality of a well recorded pre-recorded reel to reel tape. I believe I will need all of the 3500MkII's 400-500 tube watts. The XVX is a monster. It can play quite loud. Reminds me a lot of my fathers Concert Grands that I listened to throughout my childhood.

Best

Charles

Thanks, Charles. Really enjoying my setup so far. Just keeps getting more enjoyable with use. Likely my ears "breaking in" to the new setup. Ha. I would offer an opinion on the 3500's sound characteristics but I paired them with new Focal Scala Utopia Evo's at the same time and my personal experience with other components at this level is limited. Once I am very familiar with this setup, I plan to connect my MC1502 to the Scalas just for comparison. I can say the 3500's have more than enough power for my setup. It will be interesting to see actual measurement results. Looking forward to hearing experiences of others once they get theirs!

Sounds like you've put together a very nice system. I'm pretty sure those Focal's pair up beautifully with the MC3500's. I'd be very very interested in how the MC1502 works with those speakers as well. I have a 1502 on order since November. I've never heard one so it's a bit of a spec buy for me. And the wait IS becoming exhausting.

Freddie, I actually spoke to my dealer today. They have placed a large order with Mac yesterday. He thinks the amps will be soon arriving. Also the amp stands. Let's hope we both receive an early February surprise.

Best

Charles
