Has B & W reduced prices of the made in China 800 series to reflect the much lower manufacturing costs?

Did they reduce the costs of Classes electronics when they moved production to China?

A lot of cost goes into intangibles like R&D and design. Products with low volumes can cost more because of them even if the individual unit price is lower. I'm not convinced 800 series is made in china but even if it were, many of their target customers would not care.

I still buy my apple products, mostly made in china.

Anyone purchased 800 series in the last 6 months? What does it say on the box or the manual (where it's made)?

Yes, I purchased the 803 Diamond Series (some folks call them D2's) in the last six months and the box says Made in England. The Nautilus is also still made there. It is my understanding that all models of the 800 series are still made in England.

All other production was moved to China for competitive reasons.

It says Made in England on the speaker or the box it came in? Just curious as it does not say either way on the box that a pair of 804D2 that recently (like a month ago) came in. What's the date of manufacture say (on the box)? I have July 2012.

My 802d's are 6 months old. Everything from box to speakers says made in England. But my DB1's are made in China.

If there is a date of manufacture on the box I don't see it. But made in England is noted on all four sides and the packaging is also made in England. I don't see anything on the speakers except Bowers & Wilkins.

Why is the question of country of manufacture coming up? The dealer network and trade publications know where the 800's are made - England. All the other lines - China.
