Don't discount the ROON integration with HQPlayer. I'm a fan of both JRiver and ROON, but I'm favoring ROON for the interface and Tidal integration.

How is the ROON integration with HQPlayer working ? Is it seamless ? Have the bugs been sorted out ?

See! They're everywhere in computer audio! I'm sure it will improve.

I completely agree but I am favoring JRiver because it plays multichannel and ISO files.

Thank you everyone for the very valuable input. Some take aways... I have no interest in Tidal integration and streaming services, therefore that factor that is in Roon doe snot matter. The huge meta data and information is of little interest to me also. Sound quality and functionality are what matters.

Being able to rip CDs is important, being able to convert files to various formats is also important. Both of these work very well with JRiver.

I also noticed that the software used to download purchased albums from Acoustic Sounds, HDTracks, and Pono are all made by JRiver. This is some what telling to me.

At this point I do not believe I have seen enough justification for the price of Roon. I certainly will continue to have my eyes open to see if any of this changes.

That's when I use JRiver as well, but in my case I've been listening to mostly 2-channel since I bought the C2500!

Biggest difference outside meta data between Roon and JRiver is...

JRiver staff won't listen to any suggestions or requests as they know best. Roon developers listen to their users, research the requests and more often then none implement the requests. The amount of new features implemented by Roon developers in the last year is mind boggling. They are the type of company I want to support.

This is true. They are supporting some ideas that I said, "No way are they going to support that..."

I still want the CD import, webserver and mobile app features supported in Roon (Tablet versions don't count, they're remote controls).

This has not been my experience at all. To the contrary, I've found the staff to be very responsive.
