Please say a prayer for Cathy.
Hello my fiends,
Cathy is the wife of my best friend, Frederic, who is a dentist whom I made all my undergraduate studies with. Frederic is the Linn addict I mentioned here sometimes. I introduced him to the audiophile world 15 years ago. He has the full top of the line Linn system. They have 2 kids, Yorgen who is 4 and Soren, who is 2 years old. ( Cathy is of German origin ). Cathy is a very lovely and talented woman of 37. She is a judge ( not practicing ) and she also graduated from the best political school of France. Before having her 2 kids, she was working for Christian Dior in Paris. Last thursday she has been admitted in emergency at the hospital : after a day of feeling fainted with some fever, her temperature had raised to 41 degrees C, in only one hour. At the hospital, she was placed in artificial coma because she was needing assisted ventilation and she is still in the coma now. She's under 12 grams of antibiotics each day ! The docs initially thought she got a meningitis, but the antibio test revealed a severe infection with a pneumo bacteria. After fearing for her life, she would be no more in danger now but we are very concerned about her fingers. She has a general oedema, which turned her hands blue and tips of a few fingers are cold, hard and dry. Her situation is complicated by the fact that sheis prone to Raynaud's syndrome, a rare disease of the extremities. The only advice that was given to my friend Frederic is to make a massage to her hands, as much as he can. Damn ! Nurses should do this. Apparently fingers are not so important here when a patient is in the reanimation room. We saw them just before we left for South Africa a few weeks ago. Life is fragile. Enjoy your good health. And say a little prayer for my friend Cathy. Thank you. Sent from my iPad using A.Aficionado
