I'm certainly looking forward to the new season, even with those god awful looking "stepped nose" appendages.

Bob - Couldn't agree with you more. The cars this year don't look that good; except for the McLaren and, possibly, the Red Bull (which probably has the best stepped nose implementation of all).

You know, Serge, if you'd get the McLaren, you'd have a valid reason to root for them too. Diversification - think of it as a "mutual fund" approach to supercars and F1 teams!

I understand this is a one year only issue, but can't find anything official.

I'm ready myself. Early testing has shown that the field is very tight and even though
the Ferraris' seem to a bit behind, they will catch up. I read stories that there will be
surprises in the first rounds and even more if the weather forecast plays its part too
(showers predicted for Sat and Sun). Let's start the engines!!

If showers are predicted on Sat and Sun, that would torpedo my idea of cycling down to Albert Park to score a free view of the F1 I suppose I could pester my friend who lives in one of the apartments opposite the park ...

Rains are forecasted for the race. This will make for an interesting race. Could be the break Ferrari needs to possibly place well in the race.

The bad news, we may not be able to see the true performance of the cars this weekend.

No kidding, we had horrible rain today with a severe storm warning with flooding and hailstones predicted overnight. Right now the rain is bucketing down outside. Good old Melbourne! Thank goodness I live in a hilly area!

Not a very good quali for Ferrari. McLaren appears to be the early front runner with Hamilton and Button on the first row. Renault and Mercedes did a nice job. Red Bull not dominating as they were the last 2 years.

Looks like it's going to be a great year!
