Spain secured a unique place in football's history by becoming the first team to win three successive major tournaments... Well done!

Spain played great. I thought we were going to see a very open game once Spain made the first two goals with Italy having to take chances to get back into the match. It was too bad with the early injury after Italy had already used their three substitutions. Having to play one man down is impossible against the Worlds best.

A fun tournament.

The passing accuracy of Spain is beyond belief. Italy is not bad either, but the
difference was huge. The first goal was a class act. The change in rhythm on top of
controlling the ball is not an easy thing to do and just watching was beautiful.
You could tell they were going to step up the speed and once it happened, bam - first
goal. Afterwards, they left Italy some control of the game, but it was not real and then
the second goal; in one moment two (brilliant) passes and the ball was in. Just deadly.

Yes, the second half was over when they were left with 10 men. If they kept the same
pace with one man up, it could have been 6 nil.

It was funny, the commentator was asking for a game between this 2010 Spain team
vs the mighty 1970 Brazil team. Hypotetical yes, but a great thought. Brazil had *no*
defense then, and Spain now has *no* strikers, so that would make some game.
Very balanced all around and it would be very hard to tell which team would win.

*sigh*, now just waiting for Brazil 2014.

---Soccer is a beautiful sport. ...Amazing physical moves (the full body; on & off the ground), and endurance. Methinks.

At times yes, but you wouldn't class my local team as amazing a few years back after failing to get promotion with a sparkling midfield; they went right down the pan for two years. They even had Fatty Arbucle in the 'central sweepers role' for a few games.
