How can I tell which pressing I have?
By mistake, at two different times, I purchased 2 vinyl records of the same album Dave Grusin, Night-Lines. I played them both and one sounds better than the other. The one that sounds better doesn't visually look as good though. They look like whatever is written in the dead wax is the same on both. I can't imagine this record had more than one pressing anyway. I cleaned them both right after another with my KLAudio ultrasonic and neither has any surface noise. Maybe the one that is sonically inferior was played on an inferior TT. I can't explain it otherwise. Anyone have any other ideas? It is a great album.

Discogs should be able to tell you everything you need to know.

Thanks for the info. It looks like I have a USA and Canada record. I prefer the USA version.

Cool. They even have a phone app that has a Barcode scanner. But a lot of older LPs don't have one.

Barcodes probably started around 1980 or so I believe.
