Great to see nixies again, nice looking clock. I made a similiar clock about 30 years ago but a lot larger. Used xtal counted down & squared then processed by 74 series ic's and chip nixie drivers. Worked well but occasionally skipped digits during lightening storms - cured that though.

Sweet !! Nice wood base.
 I have 4 of 'em. Have only fired up 2. One with 6 tubes (end viewers) and one with 2 tubes (side viewer) The 2 tube also shows temperature. Maybe tomorrow, when I find my tripod, I'll try taking a clip of the 2-tube showing time and temp and it's cathode-poisoning-prevention cycling. I've set that cycling to occur once every 5 displays, I think. Here's something to think about if yours allows you to turn off the display while it continues to keep track of the time. I did that for days (or more-can't remember) and when I turned the display back on, there was significant dimming/fouling of one of the tube's cathodes (numbers). I don't really understand that as it wasn't "on". It took a while of the maintence cycling to restore it's former glory. Glad I had set it up to maintenace cycle that frequently rather than once an hour or once a day, etc. Anyway, enjoy and Happy Bday!

Nixie Clock
Nice clock! I built a few several years back from kits. Most of these clocks use new old stock Russian military Nixie tubes from the Cold War days. Mine have a "slot machine" feature that quickly cycles every digit for ten seconds every ten minutes to prevent burn-in. I love nixie clocks!

The maint. cycling on the clock mentioned has 4 or 5 variations and "slot machine" is the only name I can remember, but I chose the option to automatically cyce between all of them.
