Default '13 Passat VR6 vs '13 Accord V6.. which one

Anyone here owns a family sedan for daily driver? I have to let go of our 7 mos. old Murano. I am thinking of the Passat but afraid of thier reliability..

Any pros

cons?

Thanks

Why after just 7 months Jason?

Had two Accord V6's for 20 years (nearly 20 anyways), First for 9 years and the 2d for 10. Awesome vehicles and relialibity was rock solid. Have no experience with the VW.

Happy Holidays Folks,

Bob

I drive a Honda Accord sedan. Outstanding reliability and rock solid performer as a daily driver.

Another Honda guy here. Only 6 months on my 12 Accord but it's been great. Put about 9,000 miles on it already. My 4 cylinder is pretty agile, too.

Thanks guys!

I still need to test drive both cars. My heart is set for the Accord but also scared because it's the 1st year of their re-design. You know, first year curse .. BUT I think it's the best bang for the buck.

The Passat is also a contender but VW reliability is (?)

Bob, I have some nitpick on the Murano and it's really annoying. Can't stand it. (correction it's on 9 mos now-- sorry)

9000 miles? is that over ___ mos? I too drive 18+++ miles/year.. to me it's very high. I was thinking (before) to get a TDI but really concerned about VW. Hopefully Mazda will release the Mazda6 with diesel here in the US.

The Honda Accord will likely be more reliable. The VW Passat or CC (may want to look at this one as well) will probably provide with you better driver dynamics. I think the Honda probably holds its value better.

2 cents...

Tough to beat a Honda for reliability, no?

You can't go wrong with an accord workhorse, the comments above are very common of that series. That said, I like the passat.

I agree with Mike, that the Passat will likely be more fun to drive but the Accord will definitely be more reliable. There is js just a different road feedback feel to German vs. japanese cars. But if you are using this as your daily driver and reliability is the focus, then the Accord is unquestionably the right choice.

If you're new to Honda, don't worry about the redesign. I've owned numerous Honda's over a 30yr period, outstanding reliability and design.
