I still have my Monster Beetle, Frog, Top Cat, and RC-10 from the 80's.

The helicopters are tough. They are very expensive for a nice one.
It will not stay nice long, unless you work your way up from a cheap practice copter. I spent a lot of time on just the launch pad going up and down, a zillion times.

Dan, your comments remind me of the " Dust to Dust" story in the Wallstreet Journal. Hummer vs Prius. (I believe)
The Prius ended up with the bigger energy footprint measuring start to finish.

A good simulator is your friend. Before my first heli ever took flight, I practiced on the sim for 6 months... I was however able to do inverted hover on my 3rd real flight.
