Sure.
But there is a big step between evolution and reference line.
My C600 and CR1 plays on another league. As good as the DA1000 is, the D02X is fairly better.
I was waiting for a reference Dac from TAD but it seems that they are focused on the loudspeakers line.

Hi Ivan,

What use have this instrument in a audio system?you use to count the hours in the break in process of each component?
Best

Pablo... it is very useful in letting me know how much time is on my system. In addition when I recently added new Bryston 28B-Cubed amps, I simply keep track in an excel spreadsheet i.e:

@ 295 hours - added pair of Bryston 28B-Cubed amps.

This way I can easily keep track how many hours are on all my gear.

I wonder what improvements could be gained by adding the Esoteric G01 Master Clock into the mix with the D02X...

Hey Audiohippo, is the power requirements the same in Australia as in America, 120Volts/60hz ? I am probably moving up to the Grandioso clock.

How many hours and which improvements adds the breaking time? Is smoother as is it burning?
I have mine around of 200 hours. Very detailed and open sound but a bit hard on highs.
Nacho...2 weeks plus a bit of continuous play =340 to 350 hours is where Eso gear I have owned in the past and all I currently own start to sound their best. 500 is fully matured..

Hi SC.
Thank's for your answer.
My D02X is improving as i'm breaking in it and i'm focused on 8X and DSD upsampling.
Glad to know your're discovering successfully your brand new TAD's.
Regards.

You're welcome....I don't have experience with the D-02X but I do have the D-02 and after alot of experimentation and break-in I found that I liked 176.4 upsampling (4X) for PCM up-sampling and native DSD, both with S_DLY2 filter engaged as the most natural playback with great imaging, soundstage, etc...8X up-sampling for PCM formats tempted me for quite a while but I wound up going back to 4X as I liked it better and unlike 8X, it did not give up the benefits of full 35-bit usage across dual-AES of the innards of the P-02/D-02 combination. YMMV with the D-02X as dual AES is gone and they've gone to 36-bit maximal paths with HDMI. Good luck and enjoy!!!
