Cheap way to measure speed
After reading about the tachometer to measure speed, I looked around and found a laser one. It was cheap enough to try. Even though the reading is not precise and is not as easy to use as the Falcon, it is good enough for the times you want to check the speed and don't want to pay for a stroboscope.
You just stick a reflective band on the platter. Point the laser and after a few rotation you get a reading of the speed. image-2040031772.jpg image-2261830139.jpg image-2488929722.jpg Last edited by jdandy; 06-25-2014 at 04:55 PM. Reason: Enlarge photos. |

Georges.......Slick device and a decent alternative for checking platter rotation. Thanks for letting us know about it.
Amazon has it for just under $15.00. http://www.amazon.com/professional-t...chometer+laser
