Jack DeJohnette "Special Edition"
ECM-1-1152

w/David Murray, Arthur Blythe, Peter Warren

This is easily in my top 10 ECM albums. Make that my top ten post 60s albums. This is truly a classic. Swings hard, stays outside enough to remain interesting and warrant repeated hearings. Classic DeJohnette percussion.

Bart,
Thanks for posting this. My copy arrived from Amazon via UPS today, and you're right about what a smooth album it is (not to be confused with 'smooth jazz). I'm not much of a fan of male vocals outside of rock & roll or Sinatra when he swings, but this was enjoyed by both the Mrs. and me.

Jamie Cullum - twentysomething

Don't let the cover put you off. Or the fact that Jamie is younger than some of Julian's shoes. There is good stuff inside (excellent piano, fine recording and a pleasing voice).
