Thank you all for the welcome messages. After "spying" around, reading and learning. I thought it was time to come aboard. Still much to learn. We have great admiration for MasterLu's systems. Can't say we will ever get to that level, but you have to start somewhere. I have posted a signature of what we have so far...we just started buying our pieces this year, so it's def still a work in progrss. Although I must say, are we ever truly finished? Our 1201's came in Friday and I hooked them up to the MX135, MVP871 and XRT30's Saturday...sweet sounding. I'm sure I'll be on here quite a bit, actually both of us. (this is wifey today-Dawn) Thanks again for all the Hello's!

Hello everyone, I am really glad to have found this site. I have been looking around for a week or so and am astounded at the amount of knowledge, passion for Audio and music here; all without the drama of the internet experts. I am a relative new comer to this game, but have made pretty good strides over the last 3 years. Music has always been a big part of my life (as in listening), but until 3 years ago I never new what was possible for sound reproduction in the home. I have gradually built my system from its 1994 form (Sony receiver with Infinity studio monitors) to a pretty respectable, and most importantly, glorious sounding system.
My present system is all Ayre: CX-7mp player, K-5XEmp pre, V-5XE amp, Sonus Faber Cremona M in graphite finish, AudioQuest Meteor speaker cables, Audioquest Colorado balanced interconnects and an assortment of power cord flavors. At this point I have been tweaking it for the last 2 months (since the speaker upgrade from GP Domus) and feel extremely satisfied with the sound. Hopefully this journey will continue for me and I will reach my goal of KXR/ MXR/ Amatis. But I feel that at this point it is time to enjoy the music and save up some dough.
My work/office system consists of a Marantz SA8003 player, Cary SLI-80 (with all the F1 upgrades), Harbeth HL-P3ES-2 mini monitors, and REL T2 sub. It is a whole different animal, and enjoyable in its own right. I just love the cool factor of the Cary, and get many compliments from customers/vendors wondering if it is some vintage piece.
Enough self pontificating.

Regards,
Phil

Phil.......Welcome to Audio Aficionado.

Your comment, "without the drama of the internet experts", gave me a good laugh. Audio Aficionado is a special place for sure.

Your goal of ultimately owning the Ayre KXR/MXR combo with SF Amatis is a good one. You will get there for sure, so cling to your wallet. Hanging out here will have us trying to get you into that system by the end of the year. Everyone deserves to buy themselves a nice Christmas present.

I will have to be sure to let my wife know I deserve a nice Christmas present . But seriously, I need to enjoy the music for a while before the next upgrade bug bites.
I know it is funny about the "internet experts" comment, but I get so frustrated sifting the the bull to find relevant, factual data. It amazes me how so many people who don't have a clue about what they are saying are ready to fight a jihad for their position. I will be a subscriber very soon, as this is a small price to pay for such a jewel of a site.
