My friend is Klaus Rottenwöhrer (the Ro of Ka we ro) and i was the 4th guy not visible in the name or elsewhere. We made a new Speaker which we like more and we are really happy with the result. One of the reasons i signed in was a link from the Lamm side as i purchased some Lamm M1.2 Monos 2 days ago (and don´t have them so far) and saw that here are also Lamm users. I am interested in having serious Exchange, at the Moment especially on your experiences with the Lamm M1.2 (best powercords, stands, your impedance Switch experience, my Speakers have 90,5 db and 2.9 ohms Minimum below 80 Hz etc). I use a CAT Legend preamp and am wondering if someone else has this preamp-amp Setup. So cheers, dear fellows, let´s have a good Quality Exchange with experiences and not just changing opinions from having read about something. With best regards, Ralph

Greetings! I'm a lurker of many forums but this is the first I've posted in. I've enjoyed your civalized discussions and ability to abstain from petty bickering. In the last few years I've rediscovered a passion for listening to music that transports you somewhere else.
When I was 19 a fire started in a down stairs duplex, quickly erasing all my belongings, music, stereo and very nearly my life. As the fire started directly below my bedroom it was a miracle I survived.
It was many years later at the Goodwill that I picked up a pair of KLH 970a speakers (remarkable for the price), and some cheap receiver. It rekindled a long lost love.
With a modest income, buying a house, remodeling and sending 2 children to private school, finances have not allowed me rapid gratification. I have very, very slowly been piecing together a very satisfying system.
Several of the systems here are very intimidating, but we all share the love of good music Instead of resenting what others can afford,I celebrate with you. I'm envious in some ways, but mostly satisfied with my lot in life.
My system currently consists of Alon Petite Trio speakers(with passive subwoofer), Quicksilver Mini-Mite Poweramps, Eastern Electric Mini-max preamp, Conrad Johnson EV1 Phono Pre,Cambridge Audio 740C CD player,Rega P3 and P25 turntables(both currently without a tonearm) Denon DL160 cartridge. I have a Radio Shack MPA Power Amp powering my sub. Accarian Black Orphesus Bi-wired speaker cables, Kimber Kable Hero's IC's and Shunyata Venom 3's.
My near future plans involve an upgraded tonearm, cartridge and perhaps a new Dac.
I recently found a Sony Ta-4650 Vfet amp on Craigslist. This was my Amp when the fire hit. It was my favorite audio piece and it still sounds amazing. Hence my name.
I have to admit that family and friends don't seem to get spending money on HiFi. They will spend on Cars, guns, motorcycles, boats, computers, TV's but don't understand the magic a well constructed stereo can achieve. Their loss.
I've gone on for too long. Looking forward to meeting you. Bob

Hello to everyone at AA. Greetings from Texas. I used to cruise around AK a bit but have not been on any forums in quite a while. It has been a few years since I updgraded my system, but I am getting the bug again. When researching gear, I quickly ended up at Audio Aficionado.
I currently run Mac MC501s, MC252s running through B&W 802Ds with HTM1D and DS8s for surrounds. I have a Lexicon processor and Velodyne DD18 sub that I am hoping to upgrade to a MX-151 and JL Audio Fathom f212s. I am sure I can get lots of opinions on those choices here on AA. Looking forward to catching up. Mike
