hi db,
I don't what a CIA power supply is. Its not the only power supply you could power the UltraRendu with, but it's the one I'd recommend for the reasons I described above about not passing high-impedance leakage currents.

Puma Cat,

I received a call this morning from I think Alex Crespi. He was very helpful in explaining the LPS-1.2, its background, and that its power brick would replace my CIA which would supply adequate wattage. I mentioned that you and I had exchanged posts that had been helpful to me. He praised your choice of components and suggested I might be interested in an etherREGEN as well, although they aren't shipping until late Feb. Shortly after his call, I ordered an LPS-1.2.

That's great, db! You will be very happy with the LPS-1.2; it will provide an audible upgrade to your UltraRendu. Alex is a great guy, and produces excellent products at very reasonable prices that give superb value. And yes, if you need an Ethernet switch, then I can highly recommend the EtherREGEN. I'm using mine in my audio rack and its SFP cage and optical transceiver is the downstream receiver for my fiber optic cable that runs from my bedroom/study. The output from EtherREGEN on the B-side goes to my network bridge with a Shunyata Sigma Ethernet cable.

I'm planning on returning the DX-5 DSD to Ayre to have its case changed from black to silver to match the rest of my Ayre components, but now I think I'll try the it with the ultraRendu and LPS-1 before shipping.

Sounds like a good idea, db.
