Bart-

Thx for quick reply. I was not aware of subscription option until I just read my PM inbox. I will investigate.

I agree that I will be keeping my Krell 600s initially to see how things sound and to minimize variables. I have a dealer within driving distance that has some Burmester and the D'Agostino monos so I will see if I can demo some amps once I get a feel for how they sound with the Krell 600s.

Hopefully I will receive G2's within the next two months and then I will have some real-life impressions.

Thanks again.

Mike

Well it looks like I should be receiving my G2's in Piano Black around the end of June. I will certainly keep you posted and provide my feedback.

Bart- Any recent observations on break-in and current sound? I suspect they have improved so I am curious if it is subtle or if its dramatic. Trying to manage my expectations...

Hi Mike, congrats!
You'll have one of the finest speakers in the world!

My Giya's sounded brilliant right out of the crates.
I noticed subtle improvements in the following days and weeks.
After some 200 hours (which was after a couple of weeks!) they reached their top.

Enjoy them!
And please keep us informed!

Thx Bart. Definitely excited about the purchase.

Good to know about the short break-in times. This is always a plus for my electric bill.

Do you have a preference on spiking the G2's? I have hardwood floors and suspect I will be spiking them once I get them positioned where I like them. Just curious if you noticed an improvement with the spikes.

On the sub-woofer topic, I had some conversations with a contact that still recommends subs with the G2's. Although they are very good by themselves, the subs add the extra dimension for "life-likel" music. He is not a dealer so is unbiased. He actually recommended REL G1 subs and to crossover down around 22Hz. Definitely 2 subs. I will put this in my database but will wait on a sub purchase until I hear the G2's and how they interact with my room. Just figured I would pass along.

Have a great weekend.

Mike

Hi Mike,

Actually, in the end we didn't use the ferocious spikes, we installed them on the rubber taps. When Laurence Dickie was at our place, he said we'd better not use the metal spikes. It wouldn't improve the sound, but it would ruin our oak floor.

22 Hz is deep down, wow!
Your contact surely has confidence in the Giya's bass performance!
I have to admit that my long term dream also is adding a pair of subs (F113's?).

Enjoy your Pentecost weekend!

Bart-

Thanks for your feedback on spikes. Like you, I don't want to destroy my hardwood floors if I don't have to. If there is no sonic impact then its pretty much a no-brainer to forgo them. Endorsement from Dickie is nice as well.

I was thinking the same thing on the 22Hz crossover... Of course every room will be different, but the room he had been Voicing was down that low.

It seems the REL G1's and JL F113's are on the short list. I will be investigating a bit further once I get the G2's broken in to see where I am at. Latest update looks like mid-June delivery.

Thx again for all your insight.

Mike

Was just informed that i'm one week away of having the B1 in my living room

I would like to thank all those that gave me support, guidance and encouragement during the selection process.

A special thanks to Cyril (cmalak) that always took the time to address my very basic doubts since I joined this forum and off course all the following Vivid enthusiasts starting and finishing with Vivid specialist bart.

They made me fall in love with Vivid Audio, after a long journey of listening to different high end speakers.
