What is the difference between wave wood and vari panel.? Both are wood over foam.

Looking at the specs it would seem less absorbtion above 1kz allowing for more life and ambience in those upper frequencies?

The Vari Panel is a two sided product that is mounted on a wall track system. It is either absorptive or reflective depending on how you choose to mount it. You would likely use it in alternating combination instead of using two different products to achieve the same effect. Eg. WaveWood + Cinema Round Premium.

Yes, it would sound dryer & brighter, depending on how it is used in combination.

I ordered a case of ten Vicoustic Wavewood panels today. I selected the cherry finish. I should have the Wavewood panels before Christmas. I will document the installation and start a new thread once the installation is complete. I am looking forward to discovering what the Vicoustic Wavewood panels have to offer in my studio.

Your journey will be interesting to follow.

From the earlier photos you posted fro some reason to me they are more visually pleasing with the lines running vertical as opposed to horizontal. I wonder if it makes a difference.

Jim.......I tend to agree with you, although the jury is still out. Once I have the panels in my hands and can see how they impact the room visually I will be able to make a final decision. The Vicoustic Wavewood panels are held to the wall with a special construction adhesive so I want to be certain about my impressions before I get started.
