If your amp is not balanced (pretty sure the 550 isn’t), then why not connect it according to the instructions, with the back ground wire to a negative speaker terminal?

Tony, I will admit that I am not close to being an expert on the electronics of hiding equipment. I understand the terms but not confident enough to know if I am potentially doing something detrimental to my equipment. If I am correct, a true balanced amp will have a signal (charge) on both the - and + terminals and that is why REL instructs not do connect the black wire in this situation.

I agree that the 550 is not considered true balanced according to the info on their website but not sure if they are doing any tricks to the speaker outputs. Again, I apologize for my ignorance concerning amp electronics but I want to make sure I don’t damage any of my equipment.
