I have 105D and I am wondering if to even bother connecting it to 2700 and how. Would love to hear some from your experience. Thanks
I have it connected two ways XLR and coaxial. When I want to use the DAC in the DA2 the coaxial is used but I prefer allowing the oppo205’s DAC to do the work and send the signal through XLR. It sound best in my system using XLR when listening to cds. For streaming I find the Sonora opticalrendu USB to DA2 better but this is due to a much lower noise floor.

Thanks for your answer.
So in my case, since the 105 is inferior to the 205, would you recommend me to connect it to the C2700 or just sell it and get a streamer like Sonos or the Sonora and connect it to the DA2?
I have also noticed that we have very similar systems. I just got mine but still lack of any cables. I have the 803D3, C2700, MC462 that I am expecting to arrive soon and a Denon 4700. What would you recommend from your experience?
Thanks!

It would be wrong for me to suggest the best course of action for you. Too little information and I’m not familiar with the 105 other than to now it’s an older model. What I will suggest is for you to get acquainted with your new system and decide if streaming is the direction you want to go next. I prefer streaming for ease and availability while Roon is great for finding new artists.

Also, since you mentioned Sonos let me suggest you consider Bluesound products. You’ll notice I have more than a few devices which my wife and I use when we are not critically listening. Whole house listening while cleanings, cooking and eating. I like the DACs in Bluesound devices over Sonos devices. I started out using the Vault2i as my initial way (Vault2i to DA2) of streaming. Now for critical listening like I said before I prefer Roon to Opticalrendu to DA2 but I’m always thinking what is better. I believe my next step will be adding a separate DAC such as a Lampizator Baltic 3. Hope that helped.

Thank you for your suggestion, much appreciated. So in your case, the Vault 2i is connected through Coax to the C2700 when you sit and listening to music and USB (or other connection?) to the receiver when you want to play music around the house? I initially thought to use the Oppo for that but even their app is not working anymore and since I do not have any CD's, I think I will have to sell it eventually as I dont see how I integrate it in my current equipment.

Close but not exactly. I use the c2700 for everything.
2 channel music streaming or stored tracks: opticalrendu => usb => DA2 in c2700
Whole house music streaming or stored tracks: Vault2i => coaxial => DA2 in c2700
Movies, BR, Xfinity cable TV: Marantz 7012 => rca => c2700 in passthru mode

It sounds like you do not need the 105 so consider a Vault2i (storage) or Node2i (no storage) to c2700. You could experiment to see which DAC you like better, the DA2 or Bluesound. Either way you would be able to use the Bluesound interface which gets high marks by many. Please be advised this is only one way to get into streaming but it is one of the easiest and cleanest ways. There are plenty of other ways and you should research some of them before deciding. You most likely will want a streaming service, Tidal or Qobuz come to mind.

When I purchased my C2600, it came with the GL's already installed. I have the stock tubes also, but I think I would go in another direction if for some reason I needed a tube change.
