I am moving from tube preamp to SS preamp. I have Sonus faber Olympica Nova V speakers and tend to listen to a variety of music ranging from blues and jazz to some classic rock and pop.

I have McIntosh c2600/mc302 and in pursuing more power I explored Audio Research, McIntosh and Moon. I was impressed with Audio Research but the sound and increase in details from the Moon gear is what caused me to switch.

You can’t go wrong with any of these. I love my C22 and will probably never get rid of it. I prefer the C22 IV over the C22 V, but that’s just personal taste, either is nice.

So focusing in on the C53/C2700/C22. On my other system, I currently use a MAC4100 and leverage the EQ. Just not sure if EQ makes sense with the tube options.
Try a Schiit Loki in between your preamp and power amp if you still want the EQ option. Cheap insurance to get the sound how you want it.

I have been looking at the Lokius and the Bellari EQ-570 as an add on. I have narrowed down to the C2700 or C53. Figured I need a DAC and I like my D150 so why mess with trying find another option and get it built in. One less box as well.
Just wondering about the EQ implementation in the C53. Feel it will be better than the Lokius or Bellari. Also have read some mixed reviews of each.

Thanks all for your input. I came across a C2200 and decided to give it a try. Looking forward to its arrival. [emoji3]
