..remote for C500 preamp
..I only use the volume and source select on the remote that came with myC500. I've never been all that enamoured with it and was wondering if a fairly simple but cool learning remote exists that someone has had experience with. Thanks in advance..

Probably any number of Logitech remotes would work for you.

I'm using a Logitech Harmony Elite to control my my C500. The C500 is in the Logitech database already with a fairly complete set of codes. So no learning from an existing remote needed. I use Harmony to control all my AV stuff, including Luton Caseta lights and Hunter Douglas shades.
I have set up some activities; 'Listen to Vinyl' turns on the C500 and the L,R MC 2301's and switches the input to MC phono. 'Watch a Movie' turns on the MX 151, the projector, all three MC 2301's, the MC 602, and the subwoofer amp and switches the MX 151 input to the OppO. I run the lights and blinds with dedicated hard buttons on the remote. Pretty good interface for the money. Not as flexible as a completely programmable interface, but not chopped liver either. Tom

+1 for Logitech, especially the Harmony 650. It's the best $50 I ever spent on hi-fi.
