"Calling the Stupid Question Department"
"Calling the Stupid Question Department" My Daughter who has my old
MC 2120 Amp and my C 29 Pre amp, Asked me if they make a cable for her I-pod, to hook up to the Mack. I wouldn't know what a I pod looks like if you put it in front of me

you can use the 3.5mm to rca jacks. (3.5 plug into ipod, other end is rca) option is $6 at rat shack or bestest buy. or you can buy an ipod dock. I think the cheapest is $100. It charges the ipod and has a remote to cycle songs, etc.

Sure... many companies make quality cables to hook your daughters ipod up to any one of her open line in inputs on her Mc Pre.

Wadia makes an iPod transport that captures the native digital stream, and sends it out to whatever DAC you care to use, standalone, AV Receiver, or a digital player with a Digital Input port. Using a high-quality DAC greatly improves the sound from the iPod, especially if you are already using a lossless file type.

Thanks for the quick response. It's great to know that my youngest
at 35 stills loves her dad enough to claim all unused used mac gear, and expect life time customer support

You can get a cable from Amazon that does what you need, which is to send a line level signal to your C29. Here is the link:
Amazon.com: Cables To Go 4-Feet RCA Stereo to Dock Connector Cable for iPod: Electronics You don't need this specific one, but you do need one that has the iPod connector at one end and stereo left/right at the other end. There are others available that consists of a stereo mini-plug at one end and stereo left/right at the other end, but they are not line level. You could optionally get an iPod dock (~$59) that would allow you see the iPod while it is connected. |
