I have been able to find the correct art for every disc I own except for some Naim freeby discs. As I am loading the discs I am also updating my Music Collector database noting which of my servers each disc is loaded on. This db uses the same art so it works out well.

Can't wait to hear more. Sounds like a great produce.

If it (the Olive) wins the shoot out, will it replace the MS300?

I am not sure. If it is close maybe I will just keep it just for hi-rez downloads. If it is better which I am not sure if it will be, then I have a decision to make.

Here are a few pictures of the unit as it sits on top of my APC S15.

The screened lettering on top doesn't bother me, but I won't be able to see it where I have it sitting.

That is not the Olive's info you see on the monitor in the first picture. That is from the MS-300.

Jim,

I am very interested in the Olive server. Thanks for posting the review so far. I wonder how it compares both sonically and in terms of user friendliness with the cheaper Sonos and the more expensive Sooloos??

I like to hear your thoughts on the sound quality against the original CDs.

I should have some time later this afternoon to do some initial comparisons.

Howie

Just remember the Sonos unit is a tool for aggregating (from computers, servers, internet etc) and distributing that music. The Olive and SooLoos are really servers that hold your music and can distribute it too. I really like my SonoS for being able to; 1) take everything on my MS-300 and wirelessly send it to my whole house system for background listening, 2) access Rhapsody and Pandora to find and try out new artists and tracks.

A quick update. I am am now loading some female vocals after having loaded about 50 disc of male vocals. Should be able to do some listening later today.

One other note. I did receive a remote as Olive did ship the missing piece FedEx overnight even though I could have used the iPhone for the time being.
