Thanks Lotus. Looks like you made it to the big time with the Raven. An absolutely beautiful machine!

I run a Galibier Gavia, with a Triplanar VII/u and a Lyra Skala; outboard Mark Kelly 'Synchrotron' AC motor controller. The whole shebang sits atop an active mass-loaded Vibraplane.

Phono stage is a K&K Audio (with all the latest upgrades) into a Slagle/Intact Audio autoformer (24 step remote controlled Shallco switch - one input/one output), amp(s) vary with taste, but usually either a Berning ZH-270, a highly modded Berning EA-2100, and lately a 9 watt K&K Audio ST-70 overhaul (which in reality uses only the Dyna power Tx and the OPTs - everything else is new circuitry; class A, triode strapped KT88s). Digital not required.
Speakers are Coincident Total Eclipse IIs. And some cables, can't forget the cables.

Sweet looking table. I am waiting for my Performance DC to ship.

Tell me about your Maestro Wood. How do you like it? I am tossing around getting it vs the Talisman v2.

Thank you guys. Not up to the level of some here, but I've been enjoying it for a couple of years now.

Regarding the Maestro, there's not much I can say. There are lots of great threads here about the set up of the Performance/Satisfy/Maestro combination including comparisons with alternatives like the Dynavector XX2 MKII ( http://www.audioaficionado.org/turnt...pressions.html)

I think the most important factor, for me, would be having a suitable phono stage which is capable and flexible enough for various MC carts( gain/loading etc) if I were looking at the Talisman. That's really what the choice is about, MM or MC?.

For MM, the Maestro is "probably" as good as it gets. Unfortunately, I can't make any comparisons, as this is my first serious table, having had an old Sony from 1978, previously. But, it is fairly detailed and doesn't accentuate surface noise, unless the VTA is not set correctly.

If I had to give you one tip, it would be to get the VTA slightly tail down, that is imperative to having a full, rich, sound with the appropriate bass. Tail down is a must.

Regards
Darren

Thanks. I've heard many good things about the Maestro Wood and Talisman v2 both. The choice is mostly down to what I want to spend. If I get the Talisman v2, I will pick an appropriate phono stage after that: it might have to wait until bonus time in December. It's really down to how much I'm willing to spend. In the meantime I'll use my Moon 110Lp. It's not optimal, but next weekend I will take it to my dealer to see how it sounds with their Talisman v2.
