Gorgeous set-up !!!

I would enjoy to read your detailed thoughts regarding the Avid and how you came to choose the Nagra phono preamp.

Its a finite elemente platform. Honestly i don't think it needs it. I can smack the tt clamp whilst it is playing and nothing happens!!! It was a leftover from my Mc2000 so i needed to put it somewhere

It does make moving the tt easier though.

Dual 606 TT, with ULM aluminum tonearm, and AT966XSa cartridge. She's treated me well over the decades. Upgrade in progress.

That is a classic!

I am curious. WHY? did the TT manufacturers abandon the strobe light for speed monitoring and adjustments?

I had a strobe on our Pionner TT years ago. I liked the simplicity of that approach and it seemed very accurate.

That's a beauty. You were hesitant to get into vinyl a year or so ago, but you went all-out. I guess you liked it .

Thanks! BTW, it's a 966 XSa cartridge. This TT has been a trooper over the decades. I'm currently upgrading the cartridge, IC's and pwr cords. I want to do it once, and do it right.

I don't know why the strobe dissipated over the years. It was such an easy way to monitor & adjust the platter speed. That way, you didn't have to be a rocket scientist to 'keep her in check'.
