Jim,
The speakers look fantastic, very technological in appearance. They have style all there own. Enjoy and be sure to tell us your impressions. |

Thanks. There is nothing worse looking than a (now) bare money tree!

Actually I needed some type of frame to hold up the blanket. I have been trying different surfaces to absorb "some" of the reflective sound. I am looking for a large attractive wall hanging that fits it. I do not like the looks of most of the commercial audio products that are built for that purpose. |

Jim.......Perhaps an acoustic picture panel, like the ones from ASC. They will even produce picture panels from your digital photos, so the sky is the limit on what you can display.

In our previous home we had Chinese Oriental Carpet (4x6 and 3x5 & circular) hung vertically on the walls. It worked beautifully. They can even be framed and color choices are infinite. It worked well with our contemporary furniture. Just some food for thought.

Dan and Howard
I would really like to find a tapestry that was about 7' x 4' . I found a couple of sites that sell them but haven;t pulled the trigger yet. Jim |

Well here is a quick update now that I have spent several hours listening. These speakers far exceed my expectations. I was anticipating incremental improvements to my 111e's which were already as enjoyable as just about any speaker I have auditioned to date.
I have a deeper more defined soundstage. The clarity, musicality and integration of the bass is exactly the way I like it. Even though the speakers still retain that signature MBL ability to disappear while presenting a "live" sound, there is a new clarity to the presentation. Still no spikes attached and I have not moved them an inch from where they were first placed. They sound great whether the MEN-220 in in Focus 1 or in Bypass with minimal changes when you select one over the other. More to follow. Jim |

Jim, tapestry will have a very limited range absorption range and may not necessarily be in the range that your room/speakers will benefit from. There is no replacement for a specifically designed product such as ASC and a few others out there that offer broadband absorption and diffusion built in to them.

Reducing reflections is "absorbing the sound". Now, will a 700 Hz reflection be absorbed as well as a 2 Khz reflection with tapestry? I don't know, I don't think anyone does unless you measure. The ASC panels are designed for broadband applications that keeps the sound as even as possible.
