KOB is the recording which started my journey down the Jazz Rabbit Hole. I am still meandering in it.

I didn't get Miles straight away, had to go the big band route first. KOB is among his most easy to get records, with Sketches of Spain, but I had to put the Duke etc leg work before.

Exactly. There is no accounting for taste. That said, I'm heading down to listen to my two copies of KoB (original pressing & 180gr rerissue) of which I'm a fan.

I think the discussion is about the music, not about a specific release. And did you mean UHQR? They’re pressing it in batches, the 2nd batch has been shipped with another one to come, as I understand it.

KoB is one of my favorite jazz albums. It just clicks for me on every level.
I have at least 5 copies of it, plus a hi-rez version on my server. Also on order is that AP remaster that I've been waiting on for months now.

All Blues is in my book one of the greatest tracks of any genre, but I get it that the album isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea.

It is interesting, personal tastes. I love KOB buy have spent 20 years trying to understand Bitches Brew- every year, I try again, but it has never clicked with me.
I am just glad there is so much music out there. |

Side one of Bitches Brew is right up there, side two not quite so much. Still good though. He birthed jazz fusion with it, more or less.
