Thanks for the info. That is a missed opportunity by Devialet. Maybe with some future update, they will make the option available.

The way I understand it, Devialet allows bi-amping. Just read the appropriate section on the link. I think it is worth to try it and see if there are benefits.

My experience proves that passive bi-amping has more benefits, especially in smaller rooms, but I have never had the opportunity to play with a Devialet.

I had a look in the Devialet Configurator, it looks like what you want to do is possible using 1 amp for the left mid/highs and the right lows and the other amp for right mid/high and left lows all set at your own cut off point.
I would love to try this, but sadly I can not as I do not have a second set of Auditorium 23 speaker cables.
When you get your Devialet please let me know how it sounds.

Brian

Beautifull set up Brian, Congratulations!
My 803 D3s are coming in about 3 weeks. I hope my Parasound P5 & A21 can brake in the speakers to their full potential since I can't afford changing my pre&amp now. What do you guys think? Thanks.

cmusic, welcome to AA. I personally think your electronics are in line quality-wise with the 803's. It will sound great.

I do not think you will have any problem driving them, you should be happy with your choice.

I think it will sound amazing and down the road you can upgrade your preamp and gain that next little step (the 803D3s having taken the big step).

Congrats!

I had 804n's which were sold recently and since I was able to recover almost 80% of what I paid for them in 2003, the new 804 d3's were the logical upgrade. The 803's have always been a dream speaker for me but I knew that the speaker price was not the only factor in the equation. I was going to need the right pre/amp to give them freedom. I was able to get the Parasound P5/A21 for a great price and my 804n's sounded like a new speaker after switching them from the Denon 4802r which was a decent receiver when switched to pure audio. Then life happened!
Listening to the 804 d3 and 803 d3 with a Rotel 200w/2 amp at my dealer, the difference was amazing and I though that with my current amp they would sound just as good or better, so I jumped in and with some elevation. I know they will sound great since speakers are the most important part of the sound chain and normal listening is at about 30w/channel, I think I read that here.
If I would have known that I would ever go for 803 d2 or d3, I would have try to acquire a better pre amp at the very least. I feel fortunate to have the 803 d3 coming and maybe some day I can experience a new 803 with an unforseen pre/amp upgrade
The easiest way there would be a parasound JC2 BP. I would love a MC452 with Mcintosh pre but that would be another very high jump. For the time being I will enjoy what I have, be thankfull for it. Although dreaming is free.
Thanks for prior responses.
